Meet George Minot
George joined HHICC in 1993 and has been a volunteer and Board Member and one of our most valued members since that time. He spent a number of years as our Treasurer and has headed our efforts in the community as the Club’s Director of Community Services for many years. You could always walk into the Center on a Wednesday afternoon and find him ready to answer your questions and help you solve problems.
George was an industrial engineering graduate of the University of Texas and he and his wife, Betty, came to Hilton Head in 1992 from Columbus, Ohio.
His outreach to various non-profits within Hilton Head and Bluffton have led to the continued connection HHICC has with organizations such as VIM, PEP, Boys & Girls Club in Hilton Head and Bluffton, The League of Women Voters and many more.
He & Betty now reside at Tidepoint. I enjoy my friendship with George and have always admired the work he did to collect computers, refurbish them and prepare them to be shipped to those who were suffering after the Bosnian War during the mid-90s. George filled up his garage and more with bits and pieces and put together a shipping container to send off to Serbia full of “recycled” computers.
